Nivora Signal
Our story

A steadier way to follow the world.

Nivora Signal began as a small editorial table where reporters compared notes before the day’s noise took over. Today, the show brings that same care to every briefing, interview, and field report.

How we grew

From a kitchen table to an independent editorial platform trusted by readers across 42 countries.

2018

Founded in San Francisco

Three journalists launched a weekly newsletter focused on context over speed after growing frustrated with the dominant cycle of breaking news.

2020

First live broadcast

During the global pandemic we moved to weekly video briefings that reached over 180,000 subscribers within six months.

2022

Independent nonprofit structure

We became a reader-supported nonprofit to protect editorial independence and expand investigative capacity.

2025

Global signal network

Today our correspondents work from 14 bureaus, producing the daily Signal briefing and monthly deep-dive reports.

Our mission

We make public life easier to understand without flattening its complexity or telling audiences what to think.

01

Context first

Every story is placed inside the larger currents that shape it, so readers see the full picture rather than isolated headlines.

02

Accountable reporting

We publish corrections promptly and maintain an open record of every change made to our reporting.

03

Human dignity

We treat every person we cover with the same respect we expect for ourselves, regardless of their position or background.

What guides us

Verify before velocity

We distinguish confirmed facts, informed interpretation, and open questions. Nothing moves to air or print until it meets our three-source threshold.

People over spectacle

We treat contributors and communities as sources of knowledge, not scenery. Every interview begins with informed consent and a clear understanding of how the material will be used.

Correct with clarity

When an error appears, we explain the correction plainly and preserve an accountable record. Readers can always see the original text alongside the update.
